Who taps the bells that call my conscious mind
away from the rivulets of rain
with a steady
As it echos, voluptuous clouds gather
to eclipse the sun from my universe,
so once blue skies immediately fade to grey,
with barely a spec of white visible in the sky.
A clap, and thunder with its baritone rakes the void,
rumbling and shocking the hollow earth,
like that jerk’s betrayal did my nervous heart.
The bell struck again continues to sing;
But I dive under the coverlet
to mingle with the dark
that has crept into my mind.
And with emptiness pitching in that black realm,
my body reverberates with a shudder, and I
become deaf to all outside sound.
