The features are golden,
like the bars we see in our dreams;
Row upon row they gleam.
And were those gold bars as widespread as credit cards,
our fingers wouldn’t drill into our ears
upon hearing the acronyms, TSX or NYSE.
But it’s all about choice you say,
with Lighthouse, Glacier Lake, and Lily of the Valley;
designs that do tempt me with illusions of serenity.
Let me say this:
Your timing is creditworthy,
for I’ve been reviewing my bills today,
quite unhappily too,
prior to receiving your chance mailing.
Heads would bend over heels,
processing your contemporary designs
with my purchases.
a ticket to Banff might do nicely.
There, after a prickly paced hike
through the evergreen pines,
I might finally touch the frigid lake bed
with which you wooed me.
Imagine Glacier Lake
finally reconciling present and past.
It is moving!
And if credit wasn’t so tightly screwed
I might fall for the offer you’ve made.
As it is,
I’ll stick to my bullion dreams.
